Carrie Keagan's Comic-Con Blog: Anna Faris, Jared Padalecki and a Party Blur

After a long, hot day of running around the equivalent of 10 football fields, I was ready to spend a long, hot night running around the equivalent of 10 football fields ... in heels! 

Ain't no party like a Comic-Con party because a Comic-Con party REFUSES TO STOP! I hope you all kept your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, because we are just getting started. Never before has a Red Bull and vodka tasted so delicious. 

One thing you have to understand is that everything is larger than life at Comic-Con parties. Where else can there be like 30 parties at the same time ... and where else do you feel the need to hit all of them, cause anything less would be gauche? 
It's nearly impossible to make it to every party the Con has to offer, but as you may know, I hold a millionth degree black belt in party-jitsu. By the time you get through the line, the door guy, and get a wristband you already feel drunk before you even get your first drink! 

Not to mention, everyone is still dressed in their best cosplay and the parties take place on settings like pirate ships, so it can be a little disorienting. The last time I saw a party with this many sexy costumes and masks I was watching Eyes Wide Shut.
Here's the deal ... if you've ever had a sure/unsure moment, you know what it's like to wave hello to your friend at a Comic-Con party. While they are some of the most amazing gatherings of celebrities and industry power players, the name of the game is to abandon all hope of personal space.

I mean, you can go ahead and fight your way to the bar for that Sex on the Beach, but I'm telling you: you're better off learning how to drink from the closest cocktail near your mouth regardless of who's holding it. 

So I took a deep breath, pulled myself together, stepped in a Game of Thronespedicab and told the guy dressed as Hodor to step on it! 

First I hit the Radical Studios Comic-Con party long enough to have a drink, experience at least five anonymous butt-feels, and then sprint off to the Break Media comedy show to get a good laugh. 
Before I even realized it, it was time to head out to the Warner Bros. Television cocktail party, where Anna Faris showed off a cellphone photo of her baby son, Jack, to my friends at PEOPLE. He's already 11 months old and already as cute as mom. (Anna's getting ready to star in a new series, appropriately called Mom.) Nearby, waitresses sparked up some serious sparklers and brought a cake toSupernatural birthday boy Jared Padalecki, who turned 31 on Friday. 

Then it was time to imbibe, rinse and repeat, and then on to the History Channel's Vikings Feast, where I smashed chalices with the cast and tried to remember I'm still in San Diego. 

Things get a little shadowy at the Con of Darkness, which I love especially because I get to party with the Shock Till You Drop kids. 

After that, I practiced my best superhero stance at the DC/WB Celebrate 75 Years of Superman party, where Henry Cavill strolled the red carpet. Then I used the super strength I just gained from my Jameson on the rocks to fly over to the Assassin's Creed Pirate Ship party (see I told you!).
By now I was appropriately embodying the next party, a bash for The Walking Dead's 10th Anniversary, where I rocked out to Weezer. 

At this point some people were ready to call it quits, but the next two parties are what I had been building up to all night! I floated over to the Playboy/Universal Pictures party for Kick-Ass 2 and did my best Hit-Girl impression and finally made it to the FX/Maxim bash where I was their girl of the day today! 

Well it's 2 a.m., I just had my last Jameson on the rocks and I am totally spent. I've still got a few hours before I need to be up, so I'm gonna hit the after parties! I hear there's a hardcore game of Pokemon at the Hard Rock and you know what they say ... You gotta catch 'em all!! 

Glee's Fifth Season Delayed after Death of Cory Monteith

The show must go on – but not on its originally scheduled date. 

Following the death of Cory Monteith, Fox's hit series has delayed production, as well as its fifth season premiere date, the networkannounced Friday. 

"In light of the tragic passing of beloved Glee cast member Cory Monteith, the series' executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company have jointly decided to delay the start of production of Glee until early August," the statement said, adding that the premiere has been moved to Sept. 26 from its original Sept. 19 date. 

The release also acknowledges Monteith's charity work and his "loveable" character Finn Hudson, the star quarterback of McKinley High who became a leader of the school's glee club, New Directions. 

Monteith was found dead on July 13 in his room at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel of a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol. 

Works by Matisse, Picasso and Monet Feared Burned by Art Thief's Mother

It may be a case of art to ashes – and scientists are trying to get to the bottom of the mystery. 

A Romanian museum official said Wednesday that ash from the oven of a woman whose son is charged with stealing seven multimillion-dollar paintings – including a Matisse, a Picasso and aMonet – contains paint, canvas and nails. 

The finding is evidence that Olga Dogaru may have been telling the truth when she claimed to have burned the paintings, which were taken from a Dutch museum last year in a daring daylight heist. 

Ernest Oberlander-Tarnoveanu, director of Romania's National History Museum, told The Associated Press that museum forensic specialists had found "small fragments of painting primer, the remains of canvas, the remains of paint" and copper and steel nails, some of which pre-dated the 20th century. 

"We discovered a series of substances which are specific to paintings and pictures," he said, including lead, zinc and azurite. 

He refused to say definitively that the ashes were those of seven paintings stolen fromRotterdam's Kunsthal gallery last year, because he said it was not his position to do so. He said justice officials would make that decision. 

He did venture, however, that if the remains were those of the paintings, it was "a crime against humanity to destroy universal art." 

"I can't believe in 2013 that we come across such acts," he said. 

Oberlander-Tarnoveanu said forensic specialists at the museum have been analyzing ashes from Dogaru's stove since March, and will hand their results to prosecutors next week.The seven paintings were stolen last October in the biggest art heist to hit the Netherlands for more than a decade. Thieves broke in through a rear emergency exit of the gallery, grabbed the paintings off the wall and fled, all within two minutes. 

The stolen works have an estimated value of tens of millions of dollars if they were sold at auction. Thieves took Pablo Picasso's 1971 "Harlequin Head," Claude Monet's 1901 "Waterloo Bridge, London" and "Charing Cross Bridge, London," Henri Matisse's 1919 "Reading Girl in White and Yellow," Paul Gauguin's 1898 "Girl in Front of Open Window," Meyer de Haan's "Self-Portrait" of around 1890, and Lucian Freud's 2002 work "Woman with Eyes Closed." 

Three Romanian suspects were arrested in January, but the paintings have not been found. 

Romanian prosecutors say Olga Dogaru – whose son is the alleged heist ringleader – claims she buried the art in an abandoned house and then in a cemetery in the village of Caracliu. She said she later dug the paintings up and burned them in February after police began searching the village for the stolen works. 

Prosecutors have not said whether they believe her account, but Pavel Susara, a Romanian art critic, said the story has the ring of truth. 

"Olga Dogaru describes how she made the fire, put wood on it and burned the paintings, like she was burning a pair of slippers," he said. "She's either a repressed writer or she is describing exactly what she did."

Analyzing the Ashes

And now the museum staff have found exactly what forensic experts say they were seeking – materials such as canvas, wood, staples and paints that indicate the ashes were the remains of artworks. 

The next step would be to compare them to what is known about the missing paintings, which given their quality and status would be well-documented in photographs and condition reports. 

"If one finds general similarities between the stolen works and the burned (remains), then one could test the elemental – and possibly chemical – composition of the burned 'works' to determine if they could be consistent with the stolen works," said James Martin of Orion Analytical, LLC, who has taught forensic paint analysis at the FBI Academy Counter-terrorism and Forensic Science Research Unit. 

Art market experts said the Rotterdam thieves may have discovered what many art thieves have before them – that easily identifiable paintings by famous artists are extremely difficult to sell at anything like their auction value. 

"Criminals who are successful in their usual endeavors are often undone by a foray into art theft," said Robert Korzinek, a fine art underwriter at insurer Hiscox. "They steal these works of art ... and then they have the problem that they can't dispose of them." 

That means many works suffer ignominious fates. Some are lost forever. Others turn up after years of being buried or stashed in storage. Edvard Munch's "The Scream," stolen from an Oslo museum in 2004, was recovered in 2006, water damaged and torn. Police have never offered details on the painting's whereabouts during those two years.

Mothers Helping Sons

Chris Marinello of the Art Loss Register, which specializes in tracking down stolen artworks, said that if Olga Dogaru is telling the truth, "This isn't the first time the mothers of art thieves have come to the rescue of their son." 

One famous case involved a prolific French criminal named Stephane Breitwieser, who stole more than 200 works from small museums across Europe in the late 1990s. 

His mother admitted destroying dozens of the works after police began investigating her son, cutting up paintings, stuffing the remnants down her garbage disposal and throwing valuable jewels and other antiquities into a canal. 

She was arrested after some of them resurfaced. "Old Masters were washing up on the bank," Marinello said. 

More than 100 works were recovered from the mud and restored, but much of what Breitwieser stole was lost forever. 

Mariette Maaskant, spokeswoman for Rotterdam's Kunsthal, said Olga Dogaru's allegation "underscores the pointlessness of the theft." 

"If this terrible news is true, then the last trace of hope that the art works would return is definitively gone," she said. "It would be a loss that touches every art lover." 

Perhaps the only positive note is that, if Dogaru hoped to destroy the evidence, she likely failed. 

"Almost everything nowadays leaves a trace," said Marinello.

Diem Brown Blogs: My Ode to Talia Castellano

After successfully battling ovarian cancer for the second time and sharing her journey on PEOPLE.com, Diem Brown is back to blogging. This time around, she will not only share updates on her own life, but about competing on her new show, MTV's The Challenge: Rivals II. 

My eyes are burning as I write today's blog, for although we never met, I was deeply touched by an angel named Talia Castellano, who has now taken her place in heaven. 

I was quite moved by how much Talia's passing affected me. Like I said, we never met but I felt as if I knew her, as if we shared something. I know I am not alone in that. Her warm, honest smile and joy-filled eyes were a bright spot in anyone's day as they came across her story, adorable YouTube videosand gorgeous pictures. 

She was just 13 years old when she passed after fighting her disease for six strong years. Through it all she was pure innocence, the definition of a brilliant fighter, and we all hoped to see her beat this horrible disease and reach her sweet 16th birthday plus decades more. .
Like so many others, I became immersed in Talia's story after viewing one of her YouTube make-up tutorials. Talia's dream was to become a famed make-up artist and, man, did she have the talent! I'm honestly smiling as I write this, because in her honor I'm sporting ruby-red lips following her lip-lining technique ... I think she would be proud at my attempt. 

Talia probably never knew how many people she touched in her few years here on Earth. How her actions and attitude affected millions of strangers. Not only those struggling with illness but those just looking for inspiration and hope. 

You may think your life doesn't impact others, but it does! You may think you go unnoticed, but you don't. We are all connected in a deep powerful way; we have our obvious connections of friends and family but our other connections are sadly only shown to us when tragedy hits. 

So when you can, let people know how much they mean to you and acknowledge that you positively affect the lives of more people than you could ever realize. I know you’ve heard this a million times, but it’s a loss like Talia that should make it hit home. 

I hope we can all learn from Talia, to keep her spirit and energy alive. Of course that kind of compassion doesn’t always translate well on reality TV! 

On last night's episode of The Challenge: Rivals II I was shocked they didn't show the interaction between Anastasia and myself. I was proud of the way we got along despite our situation. Anastasia wanted to leave the show. She felt embarrassed and was terrified about how she would look when the show aired. I sat with her for over an hour, letting her know I held nothing against her and she shouldn't feel weird or embarrassed around me. I told her that if she left, she would be relinquishing all the power to her actions instead of turning things around and competing for herself. 

I explained to Anastasia that these challenges are once-in-a-lifetime experience. You get to push yourself past physical and mental limits that most others don’t get the opportunity to. It’s those moments that make dealing with all the drama worthwhile. 

Last night's challenge wasn't one of those moments, however it was hilarious watching the guys get harnessed to each other as they waddled through an obstacle course! Although when it came time for the girls turn, I didn't find it so funny. Anastasia gave me a look like "I stayed for this?" so I smiled, shrugged and mouthed, "The next challenge will be epic, I promise!" 

As I watched the girl teams get harnessed up, I wasn't feeling it. I didn't want to have my head in between Aneesa's legs... so I stayed true to myself and, because I'm weird and pretty bendy, I reworked the harness so that my head was to the side of her leg as I was positioned upside down. 

Aneesa is a powerhouse competitor, she picked me up like a sack of potatoes and away we went. I figured the tighter I made myself into a ball, the easier it would be for Aneesa to carry me. We were killing it! That was until the very last stage of the challenge, where I had to grab a ball with my mouth and place it into a hole. This is where reconfiguring my harness – so I didn't have my head between Aneesa's legs – backfired! 

I was actually getting choked! I was afraid that I might have lost the challenge for our team because every time Aneesa bent down down, the harness cut off my airway. Needless to say, it was a scary feeling but, as always, when you want something, you can find a way to get there – and thank God we were able to get that ball in the hole and not get last place! 

Now some may find it silly I was so adamant about not having my head between a girl's legs but it was just something I felt strongly about. Like the saying goes, "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything." I was so happy Aneesa supported me and that made us grow stronger together. 

I love it when girls support other girls! I didn't address all of the house drama because I wanted this blog to be all about girls – No Boys Allowed! I wanted this to be my thank-you note to Talia, who showed us all how to be a sweet, caring and loving girl's girl. 

Carrie Keagan's Comic-Con Blog: Rachel Bilson, Aubrey Plaza and Godzilla

The host of VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan takes on her sixth Comic-Con in San Diego and will be guest-blogging for PEOPLE. You can also follow her coverage on Twitter and Instagram. 

The meeting with Godzilla went great. 

Picture a warehouse converted into a monster-sized theme park attraction where we got to experience a Godzilla attack with these cool filters you use on your phone to enhance the experience. 

I stopped by Wednesday and my nerd senses were tweaking so much I forgot to ask where Gadzuki was, but that's probably for the best. 
The night ended with a rooftop party at the Hotel Solamar thrown by Hitflix and CBS Films for the movie The To Do List. I sawRachel Bilson hanging out by the pool and Aubrey Plaza with a drink in one hand surrounded by a mob of nerds vying for her attention. 

It was a gorgeous night and the perfect beginning to a crazy few days that started with hanging out with Wilmer Valderrama. I have a huge Comic-Con ahead of me. There's plenty to do and little time to do it, but I have done my homework and plotted my course for the week. 

My own to-do list: 

I'll be on Fox and MTV talking CON and if you want to come hang with me, I just moderated TV Land's Legends of Comedy panel today featuring none other than Captain Kirk, himself, William Shatner, along with Roseanne Barr, Wayne Knight and Donald Faison. Later, I'll be interviewing guitar legend Slash on stage at Petco Park, and on Friday at Lyceum I'll be hosting a super-secret event. On Saturday, I'll be palling around with my friend Chris Hardwick on theNerdist panel. 

Then it's Dexter's final panel ever, which is so depressing, but THEN there's the X-Files 20th Anniversary ... wait for it … with agents Mulder and Scully! 

I also want to check out Ender's Game and Divergent, which is supposed to be amazing! Then I hoof it to three parties, a haunted house and hook up with Sly and Arnold for the premiere ofEscape Plan.

Friday I've got to hit Game of Thrones, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and my new fave TV show, Orphan Black. I am secretly (ok, not so secretly) praying for Jason Momoa run-in, who will be there for his new film Wolves. 

Plus I have to see Edgar Wright and his panel on The World's End, Vin Diesel with Riddick,Spider-Man and then get my mandatory Metallica! 

Then it's off to the Maxim and Playboy parties – I can sleep when I'm dead, walking or otherwise. 

Hopefully after all of that I will still be alive as Saturday is turning out to be a massive ogle-fest. I mean Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, Michael Fassbender, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston (WHAT!!). 

Also really psyched about X-Men, Captain America, Thor, Hunger Games: Catching Fire andGravity. 

I heard Sandra Bullock will show up for her first Comic-Con, so I'll be sure to keep my "Sandy stalkers" open, while on my way to the True Blood party and some much needed cocktails atThe Awesomes party where I will hopefully be rump shaking the night away with my favorite SNLfolks. 

Sunday I will be all over Doctor Who's 50th anniversary panel and the final Breaking Bad panel ever to trade recipes before my chances are completely gone. By the end of Sunday night I will be sore, tired and satisfied. 

Emily Maynard Gives Us a Personal Look at Her New Jewelry Line

She may not have landed permanent arm candy on The Bachelorette, but Emily Maynard doesn’t mind — she’s designing her own these days.

The Southern beauty, who was not afraid of a little bling on the show, just launched her own jewelry line, Emily Maynard for Towne & Reese.

Inspired by “antique shows, my mother’s jewelry boxes, just anything around me,” Maynard’s designs showcase tribal details with many pops of color, as she shows in these exclusive peeks at her own personal jewelry boxes and dresser display, now stocked full of her designs.

“I love jewelry,” she tells PEOPLE. “One of the fun parts of it is there’s no right or wrong way to wear it. As long as it makes you feel good, who cares what other people think?”

But in case you do want a few styling tips for the statement pieces in the collection, Maynard models some of her standout designs on her own site, matching her pieces with anything from denim shirts to neon pants.

Just don’t ask to her to choose one favorite: “It’s like picking one of your children!” she says. “But I will say I wear the Susie, Bethany and Scarlett the most. I have two of each and I stack them together.”

With all of her pieces featuring real girls’ names, it’s no wonder she feels like she’s playing favorites with her kids. Thankfully, she only has one daughter, Ricki (whom you can see in the framed photo on her dresser); she not only inspired many of the neon bracelets like the Madison and Laney, but also makes for enthusiastic advertising.

“I gave Ricki the Scarlett bracelet and she took it off a lot to show everyone at school, so it came back all bent. Sometimes I catch her trying to put it on the cats and dogs,” she says with a laugh.

So what will their pets be wearing next? Maynard promise slots of “rich fall and winter colors” like emerald green, plus plenty more rings, “because I wear rings every day.” And when she’s designing rings this cute (and affordable!) who needs a Neil Lane diamond number?

Like daddy, like daughter. 

Jay-Z, 43, and a white lace-wearing Blue Ivy, 18 months, stepped out in Toronto on Wednesday, sporting similarly furrowed brows.

While casually-coiffed mom Beyoncé, 31, had a grin on her face walking ahead of her hubby and daughter, the remaining two members of the party didn't look particularly amused. 

Hopefully Jay-Z's look of distaste wasn't indicative of the family's dining experience, as they were photographed walking out of Nervosa Trattoria Italian restaurant. 
Baby Blue is no stranger to fine dining with her parents. In April, a makeup-less Beyoncé, along with Jay-Z were ever the doting parents during lunch in Paris.
